Jialing 1
Just replaced with beta4 to Synergy-v2.0.0-beta5 but it's getting worse. I cannot even run beta5 on my Mac. I used to connect PC (win-7) and Mac (OS X El Caption). It was not very easy to connect while using beta4, then, beta5 is worse. I have to uninstall bete5 beack to v1.8.8-stable for both devices. Otherwise, I cannot use Synergy at all.

John Howard 0
same for me. The UI reports unable to speak to backend services, and this crashpad_handler happens over and over and over again on the CLI. $ ps aux | grep synergy ukthjhow 889 0.1 0.7 2730024 112280 ?? Jialing 1
In order to get the error log, during the break hour, I just uninstalled 1.8 on both Mac and PC. And redo/install 2.0.0-beta5. They are working and connected now. For your reference to debug why beta5 was not working earlier today on my Mac, below is the log file pulled out from synergy-service.log. Hope it's helpful. Bryn 0
From the new Beta I only get this screen????
Jialing 1
Bryn's screenshot was exactly the same as I had before (directly upgrade from beta4 to beta5 on mac). No matter how many times on clicking "Retry", still cannot make it worked. (Tried rebooting mac was the same error.) Therefore, I had to give up and switched to 1.8 for working on my own projects. Afterward, when I had a spare time and tried again on upgrading to bete5, this time was from 1.8 to beta 5. Then, it's working like a charm. Weird...

Bryn 0
Hi Nick, I have just tried again. Deleting the app on my two machines (iMac and MacBook Pro). Then reinstalling with same results on both machines. Same previous screen shot. Cheers
maybeageek 0
I'd like to second that. On all three machines (2 Windows 10, 1 Mac) I get this error. Rebooting or restarting the service does not help.

josegalvez 19
I can't seem to get beta 5 to work on my mac no matter what I try. at first it did an upgrade from beta 4 that failed, then I uninstalled the entire app, as per the instructions, and reinstalled it, reboot and it still gives the the error that it can not connect to the background service. hitting retry does nothing
