Rowan
I have installed Synergy 2 beta on two of my MAC computers (same ones I have ver 1.x installed and working) I exit out of ver 1 and make sure if is not running, run the version 2 and get nothing. Looks like it is not able to connect to the cloud to request a profile snapshot? Here is what I see in the debug window: [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:43:59] ERROR: failed to start crash handler: Couldn't verify crash dump directory: No such file or directory [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:43:59] INFO: log filename: /Users/rmcfarla/Library/Preferences/Symless/Synergy/synergy.log [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:43:59] DEBUG: connecting to service [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:44:00] DEBUG: new added screen pos: 257 161 [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:44:01] DEBUG: Profile ID: 877 name: default [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:44:01] DEBUG: current version is update to date [ Config ] [2017-09-21T12:44:01] DEBUG: requesting profile snapshot Any help or tips would be appreciated. Dean Landon
I'm having the same problem. I haven't been successful at getting beta 4 to work at all. Beta's 2 and 3 were at best, somewhat workable, but 4 isn't working at all.
Synergy Team Nick Bolton Posted September 23, 2017 Synergy Team Share Posted September 23, 2017 This will be fixed in beta5, which is due in 4-5 weeks.

Rowan Bump. Had the exact same issue on Fedora 25 today. Same log on the Fedora machine to-the-T. I've back-revved to 1.8.8 on my Windows machine and 1.7.6 on Fedora- back up and running. Wasn't expecting such a HUGE change in the beta. Should have known better. Looking forward to what 2.0 becomes, but after 45 minutes of messing about and having none of my machines work with Synergy, it had to go. In this humble guy's opinion, not even remotely ready for beta, but I'm glad to have got 2.0 on the cheap.
Dean Landon
I think 2.0 is still very much alpha. I haven't been able to get it to work since they released the beta's. I'm back to v1.8.8.

Dean Landon
Hey Nick, Looking at the picture below, the iMac is on the right and there's a green indicator sliding from left to right. Is this correct? I ask cause the cursor works flawlessly between the Mac Pro and iMac, but the indicator isn't a solid green box. Thanks!
Dean Landon
After rebooting the Mac Pro, I launched beta 5 and it won't launch. Back to 1.8.8 for now until this is sorted out.
Dean Landon
Here's what I'm seeing and when I try to trash beta 5, I get the "can't be moved" message. I need to go back to 1.8.8. How do I proceed?

This is a known bug, which we're working on now. You can still use Synergy without opening the config window, and you can even configure from another computer. If you're seeing the background service issue, try this post: 13 hours ago, Dean Landon said: I get the "can't be moved" message You'll need to unload the background service to remove the app. Try this post:
Dean Landon
Nick, I can't get it to work. How do you open the Config window?
