Paul Suarez 107
Are you still experiencing lags though?
Balthasar 0
We have not changed a bit, so yes indeed (and I wouldn't steal your time if it would work as expected).
Paul Suarez 107
Let's try uninstalling Synergy on both machines first and reboot them. Then install v1.9 on both of them and try to make sure they both connect to 2.4GHz network only.
Balthasar 0
I did (force 2.4ghz, uninstall, restart, install 1.9rc3, restart) – resulting in no change of behaviour.
Balthasar 0
As I can't edit my post, here's an addition: It is as jumpy as before, but now has sometimes even more lag. Sometimes the cursor is "waiting" 3-4 seconds before "working off" all the movements I did. (Reminds me of a movie streaming on an old PC that stops somewhen, suddenly playing again with wrong speed to finally playing correctly and in sync with audio again.) Balthasar 0
@Paul Suarez, no more suggestions? Do I have to live with this lag/jumpiness?
Paul Suarez 107
You're using v1.9 on both now right?

Paul Suarez 107
Hey @Balthasar. I just want to confirm. Do you have both wireless and wired connectivity capability on both of your machines?
Balthasar 0
As I was writing on page 1, it's wireless on both machines and it's not possible to have a wired connection on both the machines (at least right now).
Paul Suarez 107
I see, but if there's a chance for you to connect both machines directly using one Ethernet cable, please do. I am currently using Synergy on 2 laptops connected directly with an Ethernet cable (one end connect to server's Ethernet port and the other end goes to the client's Ethernet port as well. It actually gives me better Synergy experience since lag is never felt at all.
Balthasar 0
Alright. I ordered an Ethernet adapter for the Win10 machine and will update if it helps.
Balthasar 0
@Paul Suarez: So this works more and less. Quality is changing from quite ok to bad and worse than before, but when it's good it feels a bit more precise and natural than without. Still, I wouldn't say lag/jumpiness "is never felt at all." Paul Suarez 107
That might be due to Synergy jumping to Wi-Fi and Ethernet networks. You can set it to only use the Ethernet network. On Synergy's user interface, click Edit Click Settings Use the IP address of that machine where you want it to listen or look for the other machine, type it in the box next to Interface Click OK Click Apply or Start Set this on both machines and manually set the server IP address on your client instead of using auto.
Balthasar 0
Wow. This finally works like a charm!
Balthasar 0
@Paul Suarez: Sadly it stopped working at all. The Server won't start anymore. Very second the log looks like this. Balthasar 0
Working again, I had to manually set the IP and subnet mask of the ethernet connection on the server computer, now it works again.
Paul Suarez 107
Great! Thanks for the update @Balthasar.
