Issues with copying and pasting

I was under the impression that the software was able to copy and paste files and folders from one computer to another one. In my case, just starting working with Symless, the software doesn't allow me to copy and paste files or folders from one computer to another one

Server: Windows 10, 64 bits
Client: Windows 7 Professional, 64 bits

Synergy version installed in both:  1.8.8-stable-25a8cb2

No, I select one file in one computer, use Ctrl+C to copy it (I've done it as well with right click Copy), move the mouse over the other computer, and use Ctrl+V to paste the file. But it does not do anything.

Are you pasting it on a specific path? Have you tried pasting it on the desktop first? Also, try to paste it on a different path on the same computer where you have copied it. Just to make sure that the machine itself did recognize the copy command.

All that checked:
File in folder copied from folder to client's desktop (therefore, the computer recognize the copy command)
File in desktop copied

Mouse pointer moved to Server's desktop (Log just reports leaving and entering one screen and another)

Pasting command not working (so file wasn't transferred from one computer to another)

(in the opposite way it's the same, not files transferred either way)

Hi @JuanF. Please set both machine's logging level to Debug1 and send us a copy of the logs showing what it does when you try to copy and paste or doing a drag and drop. Thanks :)

I also have problems with copy/paste files no matter what I do files will not transfer between client and server. I also have problems with clipboard text. After a while it just stops working and I need start the Synergy window, click Apply to let it restart and clipboard will work again.

Are you using Windows machines in both server and client?

yes both are running windows 10 with creator update. same LAN as well

like right now i can move mouse and keyboard on both machines, but i cannot copy/paste text 

if you would like to see I can send u teamviewer in pm

I tried drag and drop and i see at taskbar a drag and drop thing flashes by but nothing happens.

if i right click copy on file and move to other machine paste will be greyed out.

 

 

clipboard problem hasn't happened yet after I applied the Debug setting so I'll see if it happens again.

Seem to be my issue with drag and drop, it never worked for me so im not super concerned about it. It's the clipboard issue thats bugging me every day. I will update more log when it stops updating

right now its one way but most time both way stops working til i restart by clicking apply

I've had this same issue for a very long time. Both client and server are Windows 10, and running 64-bit version.

Please create a different thread @Doug Dimick. Make sure to include detailed information for your machines (OS, 32/64 bit, Synergy version installed, connected to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, specify which one is the server).

Hello @Paul Suarez,

I tried this method, and it now let me connect the PCs. However, turning back on the SSL encryption caused the connection to fail. 
By turning it off and back on without the SSL encryption it worked again.
