Larry S. Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Just downloaded 1.8.8 and tried to install on a Windows 10 64 bit box. It runs the installer just fine, but ultimately states that it cannot install the service and it fails. This happens whether I run the MSI as admin, double click on it, or right click and go to "Install". Is this a known issue?
Larry S. Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 I had tried looking into the 'Services' app for Synergy and if I found it start it up. I found it and it was marked as "Disabled". I could no re-enable it as the system would show a pop up telling me the service was marked for deletion. I rebooted the machine and now I can run the 1.8.8 installer with no problems. So it looks like there is some type of issue with the installer updating a previous install (I had 1.7.6 installed on this box before) when the service needed to be replaced.
