1.8.7 auto restarting loop - Detected process not running

Hello all, first time here as ive not had any problems with Synergy before, and please forgive me if I'm something of a noob.

 

I am running Mac OS 10.12.3, a mid 2010 iMac 27" core i5

As of just this morning, I had updated Synergy at its prompting to 1.8.7 - stable - 9799e96 . Upon attempting to start the application, the Dock seems as though its "twitching", and while the icon appears in the top menu bar, the log window in the Synergy GUI offers an infinite loop of the following:

I typically have to force-quit the application as a result, and it doesnt appear that utilizing older versions of the application help either. I'm definitely open to suggestions as I love this software, but I'm at a loss as to what to look for next.
