Synergy Service

So one of my biggest problems is that if the program window gets closed, the service is turned off, is there a way that this can just be turned into a service that can run at startup and in the background? Or at the very least how about just creating a notification bar icon so that it doesn't get mixed up with all the other programs on the taskbar?
