BUG: Screen sharing stops working

Server: Linux (OpenSuSE 13.2) Client: Windows 7 Version: 1.7.5 I am noticing quite often I lose the ability to mouse over to my client system on Windows. This appears to happen when I copy contents from the Windows clipboard and mouse back to my linux server. After mousing back in to my server, I can no longer mouse to Windows. A restart of synergy on the server (linux) usually resolvess the problem. The problem is not persistent, that is, it does not happen every time I copy from windows. Nor does it seem attached to any specific object I am copying. I can copy something, it will crash, I will restart the server instance, and copy the object and there will be no problem. I can not find any pattern to the crashes, some days it is worse than others though. The synergy console log does not show any crash information, nor does the server instance "crash". I am also noticing this same behaviour less frequently during general screen sharing. That is, just mousing from one screen to another without performing any copy operations. It is less common when this happens. I would say this problem occurs several times a day through normal use (8 hours). Please do not tell me to upgrade to solve the problem -- my version is out of date and I will upgrade, but this problem has existed for the last year or so, and all updates I hope would resolve it have not. There was a time I never had these problems and it was much more stable, this was back when it was a freeware product and for a short time after it became a charged product. I suppose this could be related to OS configuration, since I have updated that in the last couple of years, but the synergy app is not providing any logging detail to help me diagnose, so if there's a way to enable debug on the log level, that could help me. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!

Server: Linux (Ubuntu Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS "trusty") Client: Linux (Ubuntu), Windows 7, Windows 10 Version: 1.7.5 Yes, this happens to me also. And it has constantly happened ever since I started using the commercial version of Synergy (opposed to the old version). Sometimes, it's the server that crashes, sometimes it's the client that crashes. But it always relates to a cut action on the client. Also, cut on a Linux client nearly never transfers across the Synergy connection. Cut on a Windows client works nearly every time .. unless it crashes. It's a constant annoyance. /M

Server: Windows 7 Client: Ubuntu 14.04.03 Version: 1.7.5 Synergy frequently stops working for me as well. Although, I wouldn't say it "crashes" on either side... it just stops letting me move the mouse across to other screen. It always leaves the cursor on the host, of course, but I keep a second mouse plugged into the client so that I can just click "stop" the "start" and I'm back to work. It is annoying but I figure it will get fixed someday. Now, if I can just figure out how to get it to autostart on Ubuntu life would be grand!

This happens to me constantly on a set up with 1 x Mac OS X, 1 x Windows 10, 1 x Ubuntu 15.10, 1 x Raspberry Pi and 1 x Fedora 23. It makes no difference which platform I am using, it usually happens randomly when copying but other times for no apparent reason at all. The platform doesn't seem to make any difference - it is as likely to crash when copying between the Linux distros as it is between the others. Also, the SSL encryption has never worked. I have my own private network so I'm not so bothered by having to turn it off, but the fact it's enabled by default must cause a lot of people some serious frustration. As it has been observed, this did not happen with the old free version. As a open source software developer who likes food, I paid for my version and even though it was only $10, I think it's a pretty poor business move to take what was a free working product and to turn it into a bug-ridden marginally functional product. If they were wondering why people haven't been giving them money, well... um, gee, I dunno. I love Synergy, I love having to have only one keyboard and mouse to operate a bunch of different computers. I just hate having to restart the server or client at random intervals. I can't imagine what it must be like for the mission critical applications that they advertise on their front page. How would you feel as a Medical Imaging specialist suddenly not be able to control the MRI in the middle of a scan? Come on Synergy, get your act together. Fix bugs, then add new features - it's software development for the masses 101.

Greetings, I also seem to have an issue with Synergy 1.7.5 sharing clipboard contents. I don't have any crashing issues but I find that the last version where the clipboard worked flawlessly is 1.7.2-1. I have tried "elevating" the process on Windows but it doesn't seem to fix the issue. Anyone have any solutions? Cheers, -Nathan

Synergy 1.7.5 Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Synergy Server Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Synergy Client Windows 7 Synergy Client Indeed. I see this 3 or 4 times a day. Mostly after attempting a copy/paste from client to server, but not always. The server is still running, clients are still running, but no communication. I have to kill -9 the server, then restart. This has been going on for several months with 1.7.4 and 1.7.5. Very frustrating. If there were another product that provided the same functionality for both Linux and Windows I would switch.

The server go in hang, DEBUG trace stop too. I have to kill -9 the server, then restart. This has been going on for several months with 1.7.4 and 1.7.5. Very frustrating.
