3. I don't know if this falls under the coming features ("Tinker-y" Settings panel) or (Making the window size and elements dynamically adjustable) but I'd really like to see better position control for multi-monitor setups. I have two adjacent monitors to my main screen, but my right one is in portrait mode. So it is taller than the other two. My second computer screen is above my 1st computer's primary display. But I can't drag my mouse directly to it. I have to go to the taller screen to the right since it has the highest point of my setup. However, I'm able to move my cursor down to my main

 4. Add the ability to share audio hardware as we do with peripherals like keyboard and mouse. I am aware of other projects/API available like PulseAudio (https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/), Jack (http://jackaudio.org/) that can do audio routing through network but limited in several aspects (not user-friendly mainly). The ease of configuring synergy inspires me to have such a thing for audio hardware too.

 9. It happens for me even with webpage password fields in chrome - but it needs to be foregrounded to cause the issue there. My biggest issue has been Chrome Remote Desktop, as the window might be open in the background, but if it gets logged out (as it does from time-to-time) it will show the password to log back in, and as you say, for native apps, it does not need to be in the foreground... queue WTF moment.

 10. Hi Symless, Clever product but a long way to go to make this a seamless product (yes, intended pun) : Provide an option to auto-start when booting the server and client. Use auto-config as the default option When an incoming client request is received by a server, put the name of the client in window of "denied" clients (the log indicates which clients are being denied) Allow user to drag "denied" client into the "permitted" window. Your software is case-sensitive which means the user manually putting in the client name can cause numerous issues. On MacOS,

 14. I recently purchased Synergy. The server (v. 1.13.0) runs on a Mac (Big Sur). The client (also v.1.13.0) runs Pop_OS! 20.10 (based on Ubuntu 20.10) with the Gnome desktop environment. The client has no dedicated mouse/keyboard so Synergy needs to run at the login screen (i.e., before login). If I run Synergy after login (either starting manually or via the PopOS start-up manager), Synergy works as expected. The only problem is getting synergy to start before login. I tried the autostart configuration recommended by Symless for GDM (with the necessary changes of folder `gdm3` instead

 19. I see v 1.12 is now released, can't seem to see any release notes for it? There used to be a release notes page but saee that no longer exists, can't see a release note entry in the blog either like there was for 1.11. Any details around somewhere?

 23. Hey all, I have found a workaround for those of us with certain monitor layouts, like my 3x server and 1x client centered above. By saving and editing a server configuration file, I was able force the corner size to the width of my outer monitors, making synergy ignore them completely. Here are steps to do this, all on the server: Select File > "Save configuration as..." and save the file somewhere. Easiest to use .sgc extension though it doesn't force you. Open the file in a text editor, and find this line: switchCornerSize = 0 Change to desired widt

 24. As of August 2020, I couldn't figure out how to start the GUI with correct server address (Using Synergy as client)... but, I did manage to get the service started silently and I can live with that. I think Synergy has a bug where it saves it's first config file in /tmp folder and thereafter it doesn't pick up the config file even if you save it multiple times. Or it doesn't pick up the config file for client starts at all. Anyway solution on Raspberry Pi 4 (4Gb running latest Raspberry Pi OS May 2020 with updates). Edit /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart. Note the -pi in the folder nam

 26. @hcarter004 Synergy 3 will do custom multi-monitor positioning better. For now, you an try switching using a Hotkey to avoid traveling around monitors to get to the other computers, in case that helps.

 27. @kilrath @OxymoRonald This is getting more visibility to the development team, custom multi-monitor positioning is on Synergy 3 roadmap.

 28. @fu19900514 This type of custom multi-monitor positioning is not currently supported, this will come later on Synergy 3. To make things a bit more seamless, perhaps you can switch using a HotKey? Use a hotkey to switch between computers

 33. According to this week's news about Synergy 3, scheduled for release in 2023, this is a targeted feature but there is still a caveat that they don't know whether this is even technically possible. After logging this in 2016, now waiting for a possible in 2023....it's disappointing. Doesn't look as if anyone in the development team is a big Mac user or trying to use this on 2 Macs for their everyday work as they would soon realise that Macs without gestures are really very limited....

 36. So, the Secure Input is definitely the problem and a fair # of apps can hold onto it, causing problems with Symless as well as other apps like ShareMouse. I found a solution of how to find and kill the process causing problems by searching/browsing a bunch of forums (sorry forget where exactly I think a reddit post). In anycase, for those on the Mac who are ok with Terminal commands here's what you can do when you are using your Mac as the server (master) and suddenly your keyboard stops working on your clients (slaves) i.e. it's stuck on your Mac. Warning: if you're not comfortable typin

 38. Made an account to respond with a fix. I was having this same problem until I used the OPs link to help figure it out. Extract the contents of the .deb file to a folder using the command below. Replacing the deb file name with the one you downloaded and whatever folder you want to extract to. dpkg-deb -R whateverVersionYouDownloaded.deb nameOfFolder Change into the newly created directory. cd nameOfFolder Locate the synergy.service file in the directory you extracted to and rename it to the new format. mv /usr/lib/systemd/system/synergy.service /usr/lib

 42. They've responded to my email, but we're still in the process of investigating it. If ever they do find fix, I'll post it here. On the other hand, if I find some workaround, I'll post it here as well. Oddly enough, I tried the latest install again, and I'm not experiencing disconnections. I still experience lagging though. Though if anyone can, it would help the devs if we get logs off the machines with client disconnects / lags. I'm trying to get logs now so they could find out what's wrong. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I'm not experiencing the client disconnects as before, so I can'

 46. It takes a little work, but it is possible to use Synergy over VPN without split-tunneling. Here is what I did. 1) Register yourself a free (or paid if you don't want 30-day nags) dynamic DNS address (DDNS) from a place like dynDNS or no-ip 2) Register for the Pro version of Synergy to get that sweet, sweet SSL security. You're going to be opening some pin holes, so best to keep the connection secure while in transit 3) Select a non-default port for Synergy to use - again security precaution From you home network router: 4) Create a DHCP reservation or assign a static IP for your s

 48. I had this issue and was able to fix it. Turn off SSL encryption settings on all clients and servers, and apply the config. Turn on SSL encryption on the server and apply. Then turn on ssl encryption on each client and apply - once you click apply, you will be prompted with a fingerprint of the SSL certificate from the server. After accepting, all was good.
