4. Mine was working fine then it stopped and I was not sure why, after reading these posts I looked at my mouse settings and remembered that I turned on smooth scrolling in Logitech Options, so on a whim I turned if off and it started working again. maybe this will help someone.

 5. I had to sort through old information to get method right and, as is usual in these cases, one small detail was holding me up. Here's what I did to get synergy 1.10 to start at boot on my Pi 3b+ running the latest Raspbian as of this date. Credit Nick Cullen for the script. 1) Make this script in /usr/bin and name it something descriptive like startsynergy. Or name it Bucephalus if you want. It worked for Alexander. It's usual to give scripts an extension like .sh, but not necessary. I didn't use an extension. Whatever you name it, use the full name in what follows. =================

 7. I am running synergy 1.13 client on osx 11.2.2 big sur with a windows 10 server. It is extremely laggy! and i get the spinning beachball of death if i move the mouse around a lot. There is no lag at all on the machine next to it that is running 10.14.6 Mojave (and is a slightly slower machine). Both are on the same wifi network. Please help

 9. So currently Synergy 2 is not supported on most modern systems, which means I have to fiddle around with it to get it to even work on a system. You want to move to version 3, but that is not even on the horizon yet it seems. You are actively, heavily, looking for new folk to help development. So much so that you spam via newsletter to try and find someone. This paints a dire picture of the state of Symless. Maybe release the source, close up shop, go to business school and do some online courses on programming. Sorry to be so blunt, but expecting paying customers when

 10. Running from terminal using `/Applications/Synergy.app/Contents/MacOS/synergys` seemed to fix it for me. I am guessing its something to do with the way that the Synergy frontend starts the service. The different behavior could be explained by: - Different environment variables - Maybe the way the process is started impacts how Accessibility API permissions (`tcc` stuff) works. Maybe the permissions were inherited from the GUI, instead of the service.

 12. I thought this would solve it as well. But even if you tick Auto-Config it keeps forgetting it on both the client and server. this is for latest BigSur.

 13. Hello You are missing an option from the menu to set it to auto-start the server. Unless you mean the option to use auto-config to do so. this is poorly explained and written in the app. Please advise how to auto-start the server on macOS Catalina and BigSur.

 16. I'm having issues with my mouse freezing, and also key presses "freezing" in mid-press. In other words, sometimes the input will "freeze" for two or three seconds... and if I happened to press a key at that exact moment... it will register as having been held down until it "unfreezes." So for example. I was about to type the word "this" and then this was typed "thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhis..." instead. 18. I have 2 laptops, each with one external monitor above it, so it looks like a 2x2 grid, where the left 2 squares are Computer A, and the right 2 squares are Computer B. Computer B is the host. For this post, I will refer to each screen as "A:Top" or "B:Bot", like so: |-------|-------| | A:Top | B:Top | |-------|-------| __________________ |-------|-------| | A:Bot | B:Bot | |-------|-------| I have successfully connected using both Synergy 1 and 2, but with both, I have this weird problem. I cannot make my mouse go directly from B:Bot -> A:Bot. I can, however, go from B:Top ->

 22. Hey all, I have found a workaround for those of us with certain monitor layouts, like my 3x server and 1x client centered above. By saving and editing a server configuration file, I was able force the corner size to the width of my outer monitors, making synergy ignore them completely. Here are steps to do this, all on the server: Select File > "Save configuration as..." and save the file somewhere. Easiest to use .sgc extension though it doesn't force you. Open the file in a text editor, and find this line: switchCornerSize = 0 Change to desired widt

 24. As of August 2020, I couldn't figure out how to start the GUI with correct server address (Using Synergy as client)... but, I did manage to get the service started silently and I can live with that. I think Synergy has a bug where it saves it's first config file in /tmp folder and thereafter it doesn't pick up the config file even if you save it multiple times. Or it doesn't pick up the config file for client starts at all. Anyway solution on Raspberry Pi 4 (4Gb running latest Raspberry Pi OS May 2020 with updates). Edit /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart. Note the -pi in the folder nam

 28. First off. Awesome product. I cant believe how well it works. The only problem I am running into is if I have to restart a computer. I have to then reload Synergy. And restart the other computer as well. My wifi networks are setup by Xfinity. As London2 London3 London4 London5. Each one being a different speed (5 is the fastest) And I never have any idea which one will load at start up. I set up Synergy on London5 the fastest. Is there anyway to get Synergy to automatically recognize it on startup? I am pleased with the product.

 29. Since maybe 3 or 4 weeks, I also have problems with copy and paste after selecting a Twitter emoji in Firefox on Windows 10 Pro. Additionally, I can't navigate in the tweet anymore, neither with the arrow keys nor with the mouse. I can move the cursor to another position, but if I delete a character, it will be deleted at the old position. After a stop and start of the Synergy Server everything is back to normal. Unfortunately I can't tell in which context the new problems started. Twitter again, on a mouse over, shows a text for the emoji under the cursor. This hasn't worked for several month

 30. So I went through about a day to get this work, everything from making sure I didn't have a double NAT setup by properly configuring my Fios+Nighthawk router - all the way to doing a fresh install via the terminal for both machines. What ended up working was changing the port to 27010 on both machines, making sure I restart Synergy after making any options changes, and finally - here's the noob kicker - realizing you had to drag a fresh computer icon from the top right into the "configure server" grid if you change your network settings. *The last step might be the only one needed. 31. @eddier - I just had the same problem with 1Password on my iMac, which is my Synergy server. When I had the app open, I could not type on my MacBook Pro, which is my Synergy client. This would have driven me crazy if I had not found your last post. Thanks!

 32. Dominique, great insight. I think you're correct. I am able to reproduce at least one case with 1Password (password manager) on the Mac (used as my master). When I bring up 1Password (where it goes into Secure Input mode with its own password), don't log in, but their dialog is still up, cursor is in that dialog, then switch over to my WIndows machine (slave) using Symless, I get into the state of: mouse worked, keyboard input still on the Mac. If I then go back to my Mac and kill 1Password (actually just dismiss the dialog), then everything is ok. I'm not convinced that this covers all t

 33. Add the ability to share audio hardware as we do with peripherals like keyboard and mouse. I am aware of other projects/API available like PulseAudio (https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/), Jack (http://jackaudio.org/) that can do audio routing through network but limited in several aspects (not user-friendly mainly). The ease of configuring synergy inspires me to have such a thing for audio hardware too.

 34. Just got a Pi 4 running Raspbian 10 (buster). This startsynergy script runs fine but the place to add the command (@lxterminal --command startsynergy) to run it at boot has changed in buster. It's now at ----> /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart <----. As before, add that line before the line that starts @xscreensaver. This autostart file has moved before and we should assume that it will move again I expect.

 35. Running Windows 10 Home as server and Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS as client. Get the same results with both versions of Synergy. Initially this was never an issue for me until a good 6 months ago, or thereabouts after using the product for a few months without any problems. The issue varies, primarily affecting keystrokes and occasionally the cursor freezes - keystrokes are by far the worse, rendering usage impossible. Sometimes if I restart Synergy the effect is less. So far I have tried: I have reinstalled both Synergy 1 and 2, following the guides to ensure both OSs are clean etc. I have

 36. Made an account to respond with a fix. I was having this same problem until I used the OPs link to help figure it out. Extract the contents of the .deb file to a folder using the command below. Replacing the deb file name with the one you downloaded and whatever folder you want to extract to. dpkg-deb -R whateverVersionYouDownloaded.deb nameOfFolder Change into the newly created directory. cd nameOfFolder Locate the synergy.service file in the directory you extracted to and rename it to the new format. mv /usr/lib/systemd/system/synergy.service /usr/lib

 43. They've responded to my email, but we're still in the process of investigating it. If ever they do find fix, I'll post it here. On the other hand, if I find some workaround, I'll post it here as well. Oddly enough, I tried the latest install again, and I'm not experiencing disconnections. I still experience lagging though. Though if anyone can, it would help the devs if we get logs off the machines with client disconnects / lags. I'm trying to get logs now so they could find out what's wrong. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I'm not experiencing the client disconnects as before, so I can'

 48. I had this issue and was able to fix it. Turn off SSL encryption settings on all clients and servers, and apply the config. Turn on SSL encryption on the server and apply. Then turn on ssl encryption on each client and apply - once you click apply, you will be prompted with a fingerprint of the SSL certificate from the server. After accepting, all was good.
