1.14.3 - WARNING: cursor may not be visible

@jaw007 And my issue turned out to be that I’d previously had an external monitor attached to the iMac, but when I disconnected it, I left the Belkin USB-C / HDMI adapter attached to a Thunderbolt port on the iMac, which made the computer think the monitor was still attached, even though it wasn’t, and the missing monitor was acting as 1280x1024 worth of dead space between the visible iMac monitor and the Windows monitor.

  6. @Jayson Garrett FWIW this issue resolved itself for me. I restarted all 3 computers and now the "dead space" is gone and synergy is working as expected.

1.14.3 - WARNING: cursor may not be visible

I just began experiencing this issue yesterday, as well, after attempting to create a new Synergy 1.14.3 setup using an Apple Silicon iMac as a server, to a Windows 11 machine as the client. It's maddening. Your description is exactly how I perceived it... as if the cursor was traveling over some "blank space" between the server and the client, with the "cursor may not be visible" message appearing in the log, and when the cursor finally appears on the client, it seems to be somewhere around the middle of the screen. FWIW, I have the iMac's Retina screen set to be scaled to an apparent resolut

    System short freeze

I used to get maybe ~2-5 of these freezes per hour but now I've worked on the secondary PC for many hours without a single freeze. I have also found a working permanent workaround for this issue that doesn't require manually changing priority every time the Synergy service restarts. By downloading and installing "BitSum Process Lasso", you can select all three synergy processes (synergy.exe, synergys.exe & synergyd.exe), right click and select "Priority class -> Always -> Idle (Lowest)". To make sure that Process Lasso aggressively maintains the low priority o

    System short freeze

This has been happening to me basically since I bought the product 2021-01-18 as well. Recently I spent quite a few hours finally trying to figure out what is going on. Initially I thought something must be wrong with my primary system since it locks up completely every time this happens. I downloaded a program called "LatencyMon" that can measure how long the system spends in interrupt routines from drivers but these system freezes were never detected by it. Eventually I saw in task manager that my last core shoots up to 100% usage during the few seconds while the system is locked

Translate keys from Mac to Windows?

Update - I found where I needed to remap the modifiers. Configure Server -> Double click Windows PC -> Modifier Keys. Sorry for the thread, hope someone else finds it useful at least.
  11. I'm using my Mac as the server and have changed my key modifiers to function similar to Windows (ctrl mapped to option, so ctrl c is actually command c), but this unfortunately means on Windows my ctrl key is now on the windows key, so I have to windows key + c to copy. Is there a way to translate the key presses when on the Windows PC so that pressing command + c acts like ctrl + c? I can't set up any shortcuts that would use the meta key either as it only allows for meta+mouse button combos.
  12. Quick note, I didn't realize how often I use Escape to cancel a command in several programs, changed the hotkey to ALT-` that's the lowercase values for the `~ key just above the TAB key on my keyboard.
  13. On a different note, some time my scrolling function disappears on my client machine and I have to flick back to the sever screen to get it working again. Not sure what that's all about.
  14. I'm glad you got this working. I've been using Synergy for about 2 years, I only just figured this out. I guess I didn't play around with it enough. I like the lock to screen toggle. Much more deliberate, but easy to switch off and on.
  15. This is the hotkey set up I just tried. I can toggle between locking to whatever screen my cursor/mouse is currently on. I could not figure out how dead corners worked. I've include a screen shot of the hotkey setting, I used the Escape key, as my left hand is always near it and it is generally not a key that will mess anything up. Also, below that is my advanced server settings. I did mess with switch after waiting and switch on double tap, which is banging the cursor on that edge twice within the designated number of milliseconds, but I prefer the toggle key approach.
  16. I remade them once the server was stopped and it now works...
  17. Okay but in my case, it do not work and I don't know why lollol
  18. Wow, that screen shot was really helpful. I had not figured out how to get hotkeys working. Now I can lock to one screen or the other, one of my main desired features.

    Add corner dead zones

Thanks for suggesting the advanced settings. I didn't realize what some of the features provided. I've wanted screen hysteresis, so that I don't keep accidentally popping of to the other screen inadvertently. I didn't realize what "double tap" meant in the various options. I just played with it, apparently one has to "bang" against the shared edge of the screen twice before one pops over. I think that will help and I can get used to that. I think optionally a dead zone that extends along the entire edge of the screen would be a good option too.
  20. This is my number one pick. I go back and forth between home and work and the two locations have quite different IP configurations. I was merely thinking an easier way to pick a configuration, but using the IP address is even better. That being said, it is quite possible that one could have an IP address such as 192.168.1.nnn at multiple locations. So either iterating between a set of choices would work, though I could also imagine at a largish work place, more than one server appearing. At a minimum, a drop down menu or similar, to select between a handful of setups would be very conveni
  21. Hi, I was checking this old post. For me it do not work. I did an hotkey that switches to the other computer and then send the key scroll lock to lock the mouse in the other computer and it do not work. I even tried dead corners ans it also do not work. Is there another way like maybe using a configuration file and placing a really big value for the Switch After Waiting section?

Keys not interpreted correctly under 1.14.2

@Nando CM I have run into that problem in the past (specifically Ctrl key would sometimes act as if it was "held down" on the client"). I found that tapping the physical Ctrl key on the client machine would usually fix this. But that was in the past. It could be a different bug now. I think it may have also had to do with changing screens while the key was still held down, but again, it's been a long time.

QUICK UPDATE: Deactivating clipboard sharing seems to solve the issue (maybe points to bug?)

Keys not interpreted correctly under 1.14.2

Sigh… WORKED: CTRL+Arrow Key navigation for Mission Control/desktop navigation DIDN'T WORK: Keys would get “virtually locked”. What I mean is that on the client computer, some keystrokes would keep repeating as if the key was stuck in the keyboard (which it's not) Synergy 1.14.3 Server: MacBook Pro, Monterey 12.3.1, Apple M1 Pro Client: MacBook Pro, Monterey 12.3.1, 8-Core Intel Core i9 🙁

Mouse jumping back to Server Machine

Hahaha of course!!! I've updated only the server computer 🤦!!! Thanks starscream667!!!
  27. Just updated to the latest stable version 1.14.3 and since then I've had the curser disappear when switching specifically from my macbook (client) to my work pc (server). I can make the cursor reappear on the work pc after I continue to drag the curser over the "dead space" between the screens, but it's as if synergy thinks my macbook display is larger than it is, and there's an invisible gap that I have to drag the cursor through each time. What's also weird is I don't see this happen with my other personal PC. The cursor immediately switches to the other screen (as configured in my settings)

Mouse jumping back to Server Machine

I was reading through the support pages and found this: https://symless.com/synergy-help/solution-holding-a-key-down-causes-cursor-to-return-to-server I updated my client and it fixed.
