Auto select text config file depending on server ip address.
Moar Screens replied to pawel.abc's topic in Feature Ideas
I'm also trying to figure out how to switch between two configurations and having a feature as suggested above would be great. Until now, I've been using my (Unix) laptop as the server at home and work with a single client connecting at each location. At home, the client is on the left and the work client was on the right so I had a single configuration for all three with the server in the middle. That's been working fine but I've decided I want a consistent setup with both desktops on the same side and I can't seem to manage it. I've got scripts to set up my VPN depending on where I -

Everything was working just fine as it should. I didn't change anything, and now I can no longer connect. I'm using a MacBook as the Server, and a PC as the client. Both are connected via WiFi to the same network which is pretty solid. I've checked to make sure Synergy is still allowed through Windows Firewall, nothing changed there. Cannot for the life of me get it to work today. Any ideas? Thanks.

I looked around but didn't find this discussed so thought I'd post it here fwiw I've used Synergy for years and consider it indispensable, and now that I work 100% remotely, I share my keyboard/mouse between: - my work-provided Mac - my personal Ubuntu desktop - my personal Windows laptop (MS Surface) Synergy lets me keep my personal and work stuff all nice and separate - I can answer personal emails on my Linux/Windows boxes, listen to music, watch movies, etc, while using my Mac strictly for work stuff. It all works great, but I'm running into a sort of an issue: I use cli

merdz started following horrible mouse lag?

I'm also experiencing some serious lag on the client side. I am running windows 10 on the server side and connected to an MacbookPro M1 on the client side. Just started happening this morning. Tried to update to the newest version as well as changing the port and it's still happening. Please help

I was really hoping that 1.14.4 would have resolved the TLS errors (reported via the patch notes as memory leaks), and while it appears that on this version they seem to be much less frequent, they are, unfortunately, not completely alleviated.

cottontails2 started following slow mouse scrolling on client computer

My client computer is an M1 Mac Mini, the first thing i did was go into settings then accessibility and change the mouse scroll speed to max, but it had no effect. My mouse is perfectly fine on my the server computer running Windows 11, but on the Mac scrolling is very slow. Does anyone have a solution?
-
I forgot to mention that i am also having issues where both the client and server computers freeze for up to 10 seconds. This happens randomly on the client computer with normal use, but it also triggers after being idle for awhile and then moving the cursor from client computer to server computer and vice versa. I've gone through a lot of troubleshooting and tried out different recommendations from the forum and they seem to have resolved most of the issues. I first ran this command on the client (m1 mac mini) "sudo ifconfig awdl0 down" (undo the command with "sudo ifconfig awdl0 u

I'm also experiencing the same issue after the update to 1.14.3 from 1.14.1: My computers are both connected to the same wifi and is about 3 meters away from the modem/router. The main computer with the keyboard and mouse is a PC and is connecting to a M1 Mac, I've tried changing the ports but that didn't help unfortunately. Appreciate any help on this!

Hello, First, thank you for such an awesome product, much better than a KVM switch! I'm trying to configure HotKeys, to globally control, regardless of the screen that has focus, but I'm struggling to make it work across devices. Two quick use cases: I only wear one pair of headphones, and I'd like to be able to control the volume regardless of which screen has focus. (always send key events to one [client]) When I leave my computers, I want to quickly lock them both with a single shared command. (trigger key combination, one for server, different one of client)

Actually, one of their "staff" did answer on the forum. I think those are all fake accounts. There is no way he could have all the people working, and producing nothing to be able to pay them.

Auto select text config file depending on server ip address.
Dan Gruhn replied to pawel.abc's topic in Feature Ideas
I came looking for this very feature and am adding my voice to the request. I, too, move from work to home and could use the capability to have two (multiple?) server IP addresses to configure which setup is to be active. Just being able to enter two IP addresses in the current field that would be cycled through would be very helpful -
I gave up, they don’t even answer here or emails. I opted to stay with v2 since I move from PC to PC (or Mac) and I need to use different keyboards/mouse when I do. I also have my 2 laptops I use when I work remotely on same account, I just don’t position them next to my PCs (free float, non-snap in grid style) and it’s like if I had 2 separate accounts. v1 and their “grid” style positioning , and only having 1 server didn’t work out for nor isn’t what made me buy v2. I was hoping v3 was released to try it out, but never got response. I’m surprised they even have the domain alive and work

I am also very keen to know what the status of Synergy 3 is. I am tending to swap between v1 and v2 as both give me the same experience working between a Macbook (client, on WiFi) and PC (server, wired). Every so often the connections are lost and the most jumps back to the PC when I am working on the Mac. v1 does make recovering the mouse easier by just stopping and starting synergy on either the PC or Mac, compared to having to kill the process on v2. If any version can solve this issue, then I don't care if it is v1, v2 or vn. But I am hoping v3 does!

Presumably, a bunch of people have signed up for the Synergy 3 alpha since it was announced at the beginning of the year, but zero people have said anything about it? Did a Synergy 3 alpha ever exist?

This app was open source some years ago. He was complaining nobody was donating so he closed the source then started selling it. The ironic thing is, it was making more progress as an open source project than closed source.

Or next decade? Century? They don't have a good track record... Wayland was "on the radar" in 2014? I mean who even asked for the following : Leave TLS on in server and client by default ??? Change "X" (title bar window control widget) exit behaviour from "exit to system tray or top bar" to "let's exit this application and kill it"? It's starting to feel like a backyard "single guy" operation, rather than the "enterprise" App I bought in 2018... I'm just about ready to cutover from this substandard piece of crap to a hardware solution...

The fix is supposed to be in the next update, version 1.14.4. It should be out early next week.

Fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 last night - can't install synergy, not even with --fix-missing or install -f... I read that Synergy works better when your devices are connected directly via ethernet instead of over WiFi and that's what i was trying to explain that i am forced to use WiFi since my modem and router are in my living room connected to the only available co-ax port, but my room is right next to the living room so my devices aren't that far away. I haven't tried changing ports and don't know if i will be trying it out as you are the first person to offer me help. I have already tried reaching out and when i got no help i put in a request for a refund, i got a response offering to help me with

1.14.2 stable: Having an image in clipboard when moving between machines causes reconnection loop
Dan Wheeler replied to R_N's topic in General Discussion
Sorry that I didn't keep track of all my changes to debug this properly. I jumped onto this thread based on my previous experience (last Synergy version) where I was seeing the spurious (annoying but not critical) pasting message on the server. I hadn't related it to the fact/possibility that this was happening when I had an image in the client (server also?) clipboard, but that made sense to me. Last week I updated my server to the latest version and then updated the client, using that configuration extensively for the first time yesterday. And I struggled to use Synergy yesterday.
